The Nest Bedding Quail mattress is an all-foam mattress available in 2 firmness levels: Medium and Firm. The two models are designed differently to achieve the desired firmness. Note that all foams used in Nest Bedding mattresses are made in the USA and CertiPUR-US certified. They are also given time to air in the factory to reduce off-gassing when you unroll the mattress in your home!
Medium Firmness Option
The Medium Nest Bedding Quail Mattress is 10 inches thick, and designed with three main layers, each serving a specific purpose to enhance comfort and support:
3″ Energex™ Temperature Responsive Foam: Below the quilted cover is a 3-inch layer of Energex foam. Energex foam is a high-performance polyurethane foam that combines the pressure-relieving qualities of memory foam with the responsiveness of latex. This layer is designed to offer support, contouring, and bounce, making it easier for sleepers to move around on the mattress without feeling stuck.
2″ Convoluted SmartFlow Foam:A transition foam, this layer gives the mattress its softness, below the responsive first layer. It is also designed to spread your body heat and ensure a cooler night of sleep than on the Firm Nest Bedding Quail.
5″ Edge Support Base Foam: The base layer of the mattress consists of a 5 inches of high-density foam. This layer provides the foundational support needed to keep the mattress durable and stable. It also helps maintain proper spinal alignment, especially for back and stomach sleepers.
Firm Firmness Option
2″ Energex™ Temperature Responsive Foam: Below the quilted cover is a 2-inch layer of Energex foam. Energex foam is a high-performance polyurethane foam that combines the pressure-relieving qualities of memory foam with the responsiveness of latex. This layer is designed to offer support, contouring, and bounce. As it is 1 inch thinner than in the Medium Firmness Nest Bedding Quail, your body will hit the high-density foam below quicker, creating a firmer mattress feel and making it even easier to move at night.
8″ Edge Support Base Foam: The base layer of the mattress consists of a 8 inches of high-density foam. This layer provides the foundational support needed to keep the mattress durable and stable. It also helps maintain proper spinal alignment, especially for back and stomach sleepers. In this version of the Quail, there is no soft transition layer, creating a firmer sleeping surface.
Cover
The cover of the Nest Bedding Quail mattress is a Thermic Phase Change Cooling Cover – a soft, breathable fabric that promotes airflow and helps regulate temperature. As a quilted foam cover, it adds a plush feel to the surface of the mattress, providing immediate softness and comfort, and giving sleepers a gentle, cradling sensation as they lie down.
The Nest Bedding Quail’s mattress cover is removable and machine-washable, making it easy to keep clean and fresh over time. Note that the flame-barrier is made of non-chemical hydrogenated silica, which is NOT fiberglass, making it safe to remove the mattress cover to clean it.
