The Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket can only be machine washed if you are sure your washing machine can handle its weight. It is not recommended to throw it in the washing machine, as it could destroy it due to heavy weight when soaked. It should be dry cleaned as necessary and never beat of vaccumed. It is recommended to regularly share and air the bamboo weighted blanket. I highly recommend adding a comforter cover around your Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket to avoid unnecessary dirt and stains. |

We have tested the Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket for over a month before writing this review. It sleeps so comfortably that it has found a permanent home on our bed. Since we are testing the 15-lb blanket, it works well for a single sleeper, but you could choose the 25-lb bamboo weighted blanket, which would comfortably cover a queen or king size bed.
So what do we love about the Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket? Its evenly distributed weight, the moisture-wicking properties of bamboo, which allow you to sleep temperature neutral, the option to add a cover to match our room’s style, and the benefits of weight on the quality of our sleep.

Who Is Nolah?
Nolah calls itself a “sleep technology company.” It is an online bed-in-a-box company that launched in 2015. All of their products are designed in Denver, CO, and made in the USA. Yet, they are able to keep their prices down and pass on their savings to their consumers – you!
Nolah’s aim is to create tomorrow’s mattress. After realizing that latex was invented in the 1920’s and that the memory foam we still use in mattresses today, had not evolved since the 1970’s, they decided to design superior mattresses by leveraging the latest technologies.

What Is Inside The Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket?
The Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket is a pretty straight forward blanket. Its cover is made of 100% viscose from bamboo and flippable.
One side of the bamboo cover is soft and light, reminding us of the Nolah Bamboo Sheet Set. The flippable side is thicker and cozier. Both sides are made of 100% bamboo and act as a hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking barrier against your skin.
Inside the Bamboo Weighted Blanket, the weight is made of glass pellets held together by fiber. It is sown into small square patterns, ensuring the weight of the blanket remains evenly distributed throughout the night. There is no risk of waking up with glass pellets shifting to one side of the blanket, allowing for the full benefit of weighted pressing on your entire body.
How Does The Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket Sleep?
Softness
The Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket comes without a removable cover, meaning that you can add your own favorite cover to it. Choose a bamboo cover for the softest sleeping experience!
If you decide to use the Bamboo Weighted Blanket without a removable cover, you will find it to be soft on its own. As a flippable blanket, the cover is 100% bamboo on both side. The softest side is thinner bamboo and as soft as silk. On the flipped side, the bamboo is thicker, and has the soft feeling of fleece, almost.
Temperature
Because the Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket’s cover is made of 100% viscose from bamboo, it wicks away your moisture and helps you naturally regulate your body temperature.
In other words, we have found the Bamboo Weighted Blanket to sleep temperature neutral. We felt comfortable on hot and cold nights. If you decide to not cover your weighted blanket in your own cover, we recommend using the thinner side of the blanket closest to your skin on warm nights, and the thicker side closest to your skin on cooler nights.
Weight
The blanket’s weight is very evenly distributed. The glass pellets are securely fastened inside fiber. Additionally, the fiber + glass beads are contained in a small quilting pattern, meaning that the weight will never be shifting.
Based on the 10% of body weight rule-of-thumb when picking a weight for your blanket, the Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blankets can work for all body shapes and sizes, from older children to heavier adults.

How Do I Care For My Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket?
The Nolah Weighted Blanket comes as one piece. It does not have a removable cover and we recommend using one to protect your blanket and avoid having to wash it more than is necessary.
Should you ever need to wash the blanket, it is not recommended to wash it in your washing machine, unless you are absolutely certain your appliance can handle the blanket’s wet weight.
The best way to care for your Nolah Bamboo Weighted Blanket is to dry clean it in case of major stain. For smaller stains, blot as quickly as possible with clean water and a mild detergent.
Ideal Weight For Weighted Blankets
The general rule of thumb for the ideal weight for weighted blankets for adults is 10% of your body weight, plus or minus a couple of pounds. For children, you will find that they generally enjoy 10% to 30% of their body weight on them. Before letting a child sleep with a weighted blankets, ensure that they can safely remove themselves from the blanket on their own!!
Let’s look at an example for most adults: you weigh 150 lbs and 10% of your body weight is 15 lbs. If you add or remove a couple of pounds, the ideal weight for your weighted blanket would likely be 13 lbs to 17 lbs.
The other way to think about this is to look at a 15-lb weighted blanket. It would comfortably soothe a person weighing between 130 and 170 pounds.
Your preference in terms of weight and hugging sensation will impact the ideal weight for your weighted blanket. Most importantly, you need to be able to remove the blanket from your body unassisted.
