LateMornings’ cotton is manufactured in Italy’s renowned textile mills. It is 100% natural and never treated with hard, anti-wrinkling, chemicals, earning the Standard 100 OEKO-TEX certification.
300 Thread-Count Sateen
When a company shows a 300 thread-count, you know they honestly disclose their thread count. Much too often, nowadays, do we see thread counts above 500, or even in the 1,000’s… Past 500 thread counts, you start looking at engineered mixed materials. 300 thread counts on 100% natural cotton is an excellent rating and you can be assured that those LateMornings sheets are ultra-soft!

The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set comes with 1 duvet cover and 2 assorted pillow cases. They have a shiny silky finish to them. Because they are not treated with harsh anti-wrinkling chemicals, expect them to naturally wrinkle. If you care for them properly, however, the wrinkling will decrease with time.

The LateMornings Duvet Cover Set in Sateen is ultra-soft. You can actually SEE the softness with your own eyes. They shine very subtly and could be mistaken for silk at first. But this natural sateen cotton is thick and they will be some of the softest sheets you own. |
Because Sateen cotton uses a triple-weave style (three threads over, one thread under), it is warmer than other cottons. We found the LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set to sleep warm and would recommend them for cozy sleep on colder nights or climates, or for cold sleepers. |
The LateMornings duvet cover set is 100% cotton, which makes it very easy to wash. It can be washed warm in the washing machine and tumble dried on low. I recommend washing with like colors if you can. Make sure you don't get it dry cleaned or bleached.

I fell under the charm of the LateMornings Duvet Cover Set when I received an email from DHL telling me that the set was on its way. It had been shipped from Bucharest, Romania, was currently in transit through Italy, and scheduled to be delivered at my home a couple of days later.
The set arrived in a beautiful linen bag (check video review above) and I could immediately tell that LateMornings cares for their products as much as I do. Everything looked so very well thought about and taken care of.
When I first opened the Duvet Cover Set, I had to double check that they were cotton, not silk – it looked so shiny and soft, yet had the thickness of sateen cotton. We sleep tested the LateMornings Duvet Cover Set for about a week, and while they felt warm in our summer Florida weather, they will be a wonderful bedding option for the cooler winter and spring nights, when we want a cozier and warmer bed.

Who Is LateMornings?
The story behind LateMornings is the cutest thing. The company was started by a Romanian couple who, as tradition wants it, inherited family bed sheets from their grand parents. Back then, sheets were high quality and meant to last for generations. Those hand-me down sheets were the softest they had ever slept on.
They were now on a mission to create their own, genuinely luxurious bed sheets. Their search eventually took them to the Italian mills, where they discovered the world’s most exquisite sheeting fabrics, made from the finest natural materials.
And so was LateMornings born. Bedding products made of European flax and premium cottons for comfortable, durable, and beautiful sheets for families to share. And so every morning can be a late morning!
What Is Inside The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set?
In this review, we tested the LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set made of 1 cover set and 2 pillow cases.
This sateen is 100% Italian combed cotton, made of natural fiber sheeting fabric and never treated with harsh anti-wrinkling agents. The sateen is 3-threads over, 1-thread under, making it one of the thickest and softest cottons there are.
Because the LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set is 100% cotton, it is easy to care for. Note that it will naturally wrinkle since it wasn’t treated with anti-wrinkling agents, but you will find that with proper care, the wrinkling will decrease, and the sheets tend to get softer with time.
How Does The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set Sleep?
Softness
The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set is really soft. It has a thick coziness and makes it hard to get out of bed. We test washed the sheets and slept in them a few more nights to understand how the washing and drying process impacts the product, and we found that the duvet cover got softer after being washed. It lost a tiny bit of its shine, but stayed silky and soft.
Temperature
Sateen sheets are known to be a bit warmer due to the thickness of the cotton. I am not a hot sleeper but I slept hot in the LateMornings Sateen set. Note that we sleep tested them in 90-degree Florida weather.
They will be wonderful for colder nights or colder climates, and ideal if you are a cold sleeper and looking for a cozy all-cotton duvet cover!
Mattress Sizes
LateMornings makes your life easy when it comes to choosing a size. The smaller model fits a Full or Queen mattress, while the larger size fits a King or California King mattress.
We got the King / Cal. King Duvet Cover Set and it came with plenty of extra size. There is enough to tuck in the duvet cover at the feet of the bed, while completely covering the mattress to its very top. If you like covering yourself all the way up to your nose, this is amazing! There is also enough cover to tuck it in under the mattress on both sides of the bed.
What Makes The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set Stand Out?
The LateMornings Pillow Cases are like no other. They open up in the center of the pillow, so the pillow will never stick out on the side of its pillow case! Watch the video embedded at the top of this review to see it for yourself!
The duvet cover, however, does not envelop the duvet and the duvet tends to slide out of its cover, unless you tuck it into the bed frame.
How Do I Care For The LateMornings Sateen Duvet Cover Set?
LateMornings’ Sateen Duvet Cover set is 100% cotton and super easy to care for. Simply throw it in the washing machine with like colors and wash on warm, (up to 140F / 60C), then dry on normal to low heat. Make sure you neither bleach, nor dry clean, your LateMornings sheets!
Expect the sheets to shrink after the first wash. The LateMornings duvet cover set comes oversized, knowing that it will shrink after its first wash. After our wash, we found the sheets to be softer and smoother than before!
