Extra Cooling Cover
The Nectar Premier mattress cover is more cooling than any other Nectar mattresses. Containing a fiber called polyethylene, it stays cool to the touch throughout the night. If you are comparing the Nectar Premier with its older brother, the Original Nectar Mattress, the Premier contains more of the polyethylene fiber, providing a cooler sensation! Breathable and cooling, it ensures you won’t sleep hot at night. The heat-wicking properties of polyethylene work really well for hot sleepers or when sleeping in hot climates.
3 Layers Of Memory Foam
The Nectar Premier is made of 3 layers of CertiPUR-US certified memory foams, totaling 13 inches in height (an inch thicker than The Nectar Mattress). The first layer provides 3 inches of gel memory foam with phase change material, further helping you cool sleep and relieving pressure in the hip and shoulder areas. Then come 3 inches of transition foam, which is responsive and ensures you don’t feel stuck in your mattress. The bottom 7 inches of foam are firm and provide spinal alignment and pressure-relief area support.
Modern Design
The design of the Nectar Premier is clean and modern – a very nice twist in the mattress industry. Nectar, overall, has a very fun and hip feel to it and their mattress is the perfect example of a modern design.

We rated the Nectar Premier a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale, which ranks it a little firmer than average in the mattress industry. We felt a lot of soft contouring down the entire body. The top 3 inches of foam are very soft and have a cloud-like sink to them, which is nicely balanced with 3 inches of a firmer and more responsive foam below and a harder foam at the bottom for stability and support. |
The Nectar Premier mattress sleeps very cool, and noticeably cooler than the original Nectar Mattress. Its cover has a high amount of polyethylene fiber, which remains cool to the touch throughout the night. Additionally, the top 3 inches of gel memory foam include some phase changing material, which helps disperse your excess body heat in the summer. In the winter, it absorbs and disperses your body heat back up, to keep you warm and comfortable. In other words, the Nectar Premier regulates your sleep environment to allow you to sleep comfortably in all seasons. It is a great mattress for hot sleepers. |
A huge plus of the Nectar Premier is its removable and washable cover. While I would only ever machine wash a mattress cover in case of a major spill or stain, it is nice to know that you can! Whenever possible, spot clean smaller stains with cloth / water / mild detergent. But should a larger stain occur, unzip the mattress cover and run it on your washing machine's cold cycle and gentle dry cycle. |
Because of its fairly average firmness and the amount of support provided by the lower layers of foam, the Nectar Premier is a great mattress for side and back-sleepers, as well as stomach-sleepers under 200 lbs! Side-sleepers find lots of soft contouring and pressure relief. Back sleepers enjoy the spinal alignment and support. While stomach-sleepers below 200 lbs, find enough support to protect their lower backs. The Nectar Premier performed incredibly well in the motion transfer test, making it a great option for couples, especially of different sleeping styles. |

The Nectar Premier mattress is an impressive mattress for its value and cool sleep properties. It offers incredible plushness and support, giving memory foam lovers the best of both worlds. You are cradled in the foam, while your spine remains healthy and aligned throughout the night.
We loved the extra inch of responsive foam, which ensure that changing position is never an effort. The Nectar Premier performed extremely well on the motion transfer test, making it an ideal mattress for couples.
Where the Nectar Premier really stood out, against its competition and against its older brother The Nectar Mattress, is on cool sleep! The first layer of memory foam is 3 inches of gel memory foam, infused with phase change material (PCM). That material is extraordinary and wicks away your excess body heat if your sleeping environment is too hot. In case of colder nights, it releases the retained heat back to the sleeper.

What Is Inside The Nectar Premier?
The Nectar Premier is a 13-inch thick mattress, made of 5 distinct layers – its cooling cover, 3 layers of foams, and a non-slip stabilizing bottom cover. Let’s look at the role of each layer independently:
Cooling Cover
The Nectar Premier’s Cooling Cover is made of polyethylene, a fiber known to feel cool to the touch. It is breathable and helps wick away your excess body heat to leave you sleeping cool throughout the night. When comparing the Nectar Premier to the Original Nectar Mattress, you will find the amount of polyethylene to be greater in the Premier, keeping you cooler longer! We found the Nectar Cooling Cover to do a really good job at sleeping cool. It felt soft and had a very modern bright and quilted look. The Nectar cooling cover is also zippable and machine-washable, which is amazing in case of larger spills or for maintenance every few years!
3″ Of Gel Memory Foam
The upper layer of memory foam is 3 inches of gel memory foam, infused with phase change material. It is the softest of the 3 layers and provides a deep sink and comfortable contouring down the entire body. It is cozy and has the typical feeling of memory foam. It does an excellent job at relieving the deep pressure areas around the hips and shoulders, especially for side-sleepers. It is the cozy and cushiony feeling most of us are after.
Thanks to its phase change material infusion, this top layer of memory foam plays an important role in keeping you cool. It provides a temperature-regulating and cooling benefits throughout the night. On hot nights, it continuously wicks away and retains excess heat from your body. On cooler nights, it has the ability to release the retained heat back to the sleeper if your environment is too cold.
3″ Of Transition Foam – Dynamic Support Layer
The second layer of foam acts as a transition layer and is an inch thicker than in The Nectar Mattress. Between the plush top layer and the firmer bottom 7 inches, it provides resistance against the body and good support of the high pressure areas. The extra inch makes the Nectar Premier a bit firmer than The Nectar Mattress. It is also the most responsive of the layers, allowing you to never feel stuck in the mattress. It helps make turning around effortless and prevents your body from feeling the firmer foam below.
7″ High Density Foam – Stay-Stable Base Layer
The bottom layer of foam in the Nectar Premier is there to provide support and stability to the mattress. It helps give the Nectar Premier a strong structure and ensures proper spinal alignment.
Shift-Resistant Lower Cover
The lower portion of the Nectar Premier’s cover envelops the different layers of foam and is sprinkled with anti-slide shift-resistant material to ensure your Nectar Premier stays in place.
How Does The Nectar Premier Sleep?
Firmness
The Nectar Premier is a tiny bit firmer than the average mattress and The Nectar Mattress. We rated it a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale, with the average mattress being about a 6/10. It was a little challenging to rate the Nectar Premier as the upper foam feels quite soft as you sit on the mattress, but changes for a much firmer feeling as soon as you lay. Your body hits the lower layers of foam, which are firmer and more responsive, popping your body back up and evenly distributing your weight for a feeling of weightlessness!
Sleeping Style
I believe that the Nectar Premier can work really well for all sleepers. The side sleepers will love the 3 inches of pressure-relieving foam, that contour and hug your body in the right places. It makes the Nectar Premier an ideal mattress for that group of sleepers.
Back-sleepers will find the Nectar Premier very comfortable as well. The bottom two layers of foam allow for great spinal alignment with enough responsiveness to ensure that your body lays in a comfortable and healthy position.
Stomach-sleepers who enjoy a softer mattress, or who happen to move around at night, will find the Nectar Premier to be a good option if they are under the 200-lb mark. I sleep on my stomach myself and had no issues sleeping on the Nectar Premier. I think it would do OK with most stomach-sleepers under 200 lbs. Those above 200/220 lbs will definitely find it too soft and could suffer from lower back and hip pain in the morning.
Overall, the Nectar Premier is a wonderful option for couples with different sleeping styles, as it can accommodate different sleepers very comfortably!
Temperature
The Nectar Premier’s cooling cover does an impressive job at sleeping cool. It is breathable enough to provide airflow and its extra polyethylene wicks away your excess body heat throughout the night. The Nectar Premier mattress will be ideal for hot sleepers who are worried about over-heating in memory foam, but cool sleepers should not shy away from it, as the phase change material in its upper layer of foam releases heat back to the sleeper on cold nights.
Motion Transfer
This is where the Nectar Premier shined! Thanks to its 13 inches of memory foam and a top layer with very slow responsiveness, this mattress is absolutely ideal for couples who wake each other up at night.
When we put it through the kids-jumping-on-the-bed test, it provided a very stable sleeping surface for the sleeper and you will not get woken up by your moving partner!
How Do I Care For The Nectar Premier Mattress?
Always remember to use a mattress protector to protect your mattress investment. However, accidents and spill happen, and caring for your Nectar Mattress is a lot easier than most mattresses.
In case of a small spill or stain, try to blot it with cloth / water / mild detergent, as quickly as possible.
Should you discover a larger stain or spill, I love that the Nectar Premier has a zippable cover that can be thrown in the washer and dryer. I recommend cleaning it alone and on the cold cycle. Dry on the gentle cycle or let air dry, before zipping it back up! Just make sure you have not flipped the mattress, as The Nectar Mattress’ foams are meant to be used in a specific order!
