It gives excellent support with just the right amount of plushness if you enjoy mattresses a little firmer than average. |
The Aviya Luxury Firm mattress is engineered to keep you cool at night. We found it to provide very temperature-neutral rest in our Florida summer test. We never felt hot on it, as we didn't get trapped in our own body shape since the foam is fairly responsive, as well as engineered to be more breathable than most foams. The cover of the mattress is made of natural cotton, which is a naturally moisture-wicking material, that adds to the cool sleep properties of the mattress. |
While the cover of the mattress is not meant to be removed, you can spot clean the mattress if needed. Simply blot the stain with a cloth, water and mild detergent, and let it air dry. Try not to rub the stain as that could make matters worse. |

Who Is Aviya?
When the owners of Aviya tried buying a mattress, they weren’t happy with the options offered. No one was selling a luxurious-feeling innerspring mattress online, at a price that they could afford. They weren’t happy with the all-foam mattresses and decided to build one from scratch, right in Ohio.
They designed an incredibly comfortable and impressively affordable hybrid mattress with the help of a master mattress craftsman, by using high-quality and highly-certified materials, from the foams to the coils, to ensure amazing sleep at the lowest price possible.
What Is Inside The Aviya Luxury Firm Mattress?
The Aviya Luxury Firm mattress is made of 3 layers of foam, 850 coils (in the Queen, 1,100 in the King), a bottom-layer of Polyfoam, all covered in a natural cotton cover. Let’s look at each layer in more detail:
Cotton Cover
The cover of the Aviya mattress is made of premium cotton quilting. Cotton is a naturally breathable and moisture-wicking material that allows the air to flow and remains temperature-neutral throughout the night. It is the closest layer to your body and a natural option for a cool night of sleep.
Breathable Comfort Foam
The first layer of foam is a high-density breathable comfort foam that lets the air flow. It not only channels excess body heat down and away from the body, it also brings up the air flowing through the inner coils.
High-Density Foam
The second layer of foam is a high-density foam that is responsive enough to bounce back as you move out of the mattress. It provides extra comfort and just the right amount of contouring, without ever creating a feeling of being stuck. Not only does it add life to your mattress and resists sagging, it also provides added stability and is a nice transition into the third layer of foam.
Support Layer
The third layer of foam transitions your body from foam to coils. It provides excellent lumbar support and allows your back to be supported and your spine to stay aligned throughout the night. It is also there to allow for deep pressure relief, especially for side-sleepers who need that little bit of extra sink in the shoulder and hip areas.
Coils
The Queen mattress has 850 (King has 1,100) individually-wrapped innersprings made of 15-gauge steel. They are some of the best and most expensive innersprings available and Aviya has added some stronger springs in the center of the mattress, where more support is needed and to provide extra life to the mattress. The coils also naturally allow for air flow through the mattress, adding to the sensation of cool sleep throughout the night.
Polyfoam
Below the innersprings is an inch of Polyfoam, which give an outlet for the coils to compress into, as well as add life and stability to the Aviya mattress.
High-Density Foam Edging
The Aviya Luxury Firm mattress is surrounded by a 3″-thick perimeter of foam. That layer provides extra support and avoids sagging on the side, which can be a real benefit for heavier folks, but also allows for edge-to-edge sleeping. Aviya assumes a 15% increase in width feeling, versus other mattresses. If you are a person who likes sitting on the side of the bed, or uses the sides to get in and out of bed, you will notice that it is firmer than other mattresses and provides more support and less sagging.
How Does The Aviya Luxury Firm Mattress Sleep?
Firmness
We tested the Aviya Luxury Firm mattress as 6 or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale, where 10 is the firmest. It is definitely a firmer mattress than the average, due to several layers of high-density foams, a strong and supportive perimeter, and the 850 innersprings providing support to the Aviya mattress.
Sleeping Style
This is what impressed us most with the Aviya Luxury Firm. Rarely do we recommend a mattress for all kinds of sleepers, but with the Aviya Luxury Firm, we are confident that side-sleepers, back-sleepers, and stomach-sleepers can find a great deal of comfort. Ideal for side-sleepers and back-sleepers, it is a very good option for stomach-sleepers under 200 lbs. Past that, or if you are looking for a firmer option, feel free to take a look at the Aviya Firm mattress, which is a firmer and more supportive option that should comfortably support heavier stomach-sleepers.
Temperature
The Aviya Luxury Firm mattress is engineered to sleep cool. We sleep tested it during hot Florida nights and found it to be perfectly temperature neutral. The foam has enough responsiveness to never give a feel of deep sink, which would lead to the heat being trapped around and below the body. Instead, the foams bounce back up and release the heat at the same time.
The first layer of foam is made of a breathable material that allows the air to flow from the coils up, as well as for excess heat to escape from underneath the body.
Lastly, the cotton cover provides a natural layer to sleep on, allowing air to flow through and moisture to be wicked away naturally.
Motion Transfer
The Aviya Luxury Firm mattress is incredible with motion transfer. I ran my regular test with my 7-year old jumping next to me, which would be WAY more than any movement generated by a body tossing around at night, and I barely felt the mattress move. The Aviya mattress is a wonder of motion absorption and if you have a partner who wakes you up at night, I highly doubt that you will be bothered on the Aviya Luxury Firm mattress.
How Do I Care For The Aviya Luxury Firm Mattress?
The cotton cover of the Aviya Luxury Firm mattress should be spot-cleaned as needed. Simply blot the stain with a cloth, water and a mild detergent. Avoid rubbing the stain and allow it to air dry.
