The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress is made of 2 upper layers of foam, as well as a foam-infused knitted cover. Another layer of foam can be found at the base of the mattress.
The upper layers of foam work together to provide the cozy plushness and responsiveness your body needs to relax and decompress while feeling supported and aligned in a healthy sleep position.
8″ Of Reinforced Coils
Thanks to a thick 8 inches of reinforced coils (more than half of the mattress’ thickness), the 14″ Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress allows your body to be fully supported, from head to toe.
The individually-wrapped coils prevent motion transfer and let plenty of cool air flow through the mattress. Additionally, the reinforced perimeter of steel gives you a sense of a larger sleeping surface, allowing you to sleep from side-to-side, and making coming in and out of bed easy.
Thickness Options
You can choose to purchase the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress in 14 inches (tested here), 12 inches, 10 inches, or 8 inches. The thinner the mattress, the lower the price.

What Is Inside The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress?
The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress is made of a total of 5 layers, with 5 inches of foams, a thick 8 inches of coils, and a 1-inch foam base.
It is designed to provide plush comfort, spine-aligning support, and a solution for hot sleepers to sleep without breaking a sweat.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid mattress. We reviewed the 14-inch model, but note that the 1-sided mattress is also available in 8, 10, and 12 inches, as well as in all-foam (10 and 12 inches only) for those who prefer foam mattresses.
All foams used in Crafted Sleep mattresses are CertiPUR-US certified, making them free of harsh chemicals and with low emissions into your bedroom air.
Quilted Foam Cover
The closest layer to your body is a 1-inch thick quilted cover – in other words, the cover is infused with a full inch of foam, for that pillow-top feel of luxury hotels. Because it is so stretchable, the cover moves with each moving sleeper, and isolates motion to prevent disturbance from a moving partner.
We found the quilted mattress cover to be breathable and cool sleeping. It helps in cradling your body and gives a very luxurious feel to the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress.
2″ Gel-Infused Memory Foam
Memory foam is known as a hot-sleeping material, in which you get stuck at night… forget all of that in the Crafted Sleep Hybrid Mattress!
Crafted Sleep uses a thick 2-inch layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam right underneath its thick Quilted Mattress Cover. Thanks to its cooling gel, it sucks in your excess body heat and allows your body to sleep in a temperature-neutral environment.
Those first 2 inches provide lots of pressure relief, as needed by side-sleepers for those high-pressure areas in the hips and shoulders. It is also the main provider of plushness in the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress, responsible for that cozy comfort that conforms to your body as soon as you lay down.
Additionally to pressure relief, the gel-infused memory foam used in the Crafted Sleep mattresses has excellent responsiveness. You will never feel stuck in your mattress – tossing and turning is made easy thanks to a foam that bounces back when you switch positions!
2″ HD Pressure Relieving Support Foam
This second layer of foam, known as HD Pressure Relieving Support Foam, provides another 2 inches of pressure relief, while transitioning into a more responsive and firmer layer of foam. Its goal is to start aligning your bones and spine in a healthy sleeping position.
It also provides a transition layer before hitting the coils right underneath, adding stability to the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided mattress.
8″ Individually-Wrapped Coils
The 8 inches of coils are individually-wrapped and make up more than half of the Crafted Sleep Mattress’ thickness. Because of the individual coil wrapping, you will enjoy very little motion transfer in the Crafted Sleep Hybrid Mattress. When one coil is activated by a sleeper’s movement, other coils are able to remain stable since they are individually wrapped. This allows partners to sleep without feeling the movement of the second person tossing at night.
The coil layer further provides spine-aligning support, giving your body all of the support it needs to lay in a healthy position all night long. The 1-Sided Hybrid mattress has an extra 2 inches of coils, compared to the 2-Sided Hybrid Mattress, adding a little firmness to the overall feel of the mattress.
The coils used in the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid mattress are reinforced on the edges. This allows you to sleep from edge-to-edge, giving you the impression of a mattress about 20% wider than it truly is. Additionally, if you are someone who sits on the side of his/her bed, the reinforced coils make getting in and out of bed easier.
1″ Base Foam
The bottom layer of the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress is a very typical layer in the mattress industry. The high-density foam is 1-inch thick and provides stability and life to the mattress.
How Does The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress Sleep?
Firmness
The exact firmness of the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress will depend a little bit of the thickness you choose. We tested the 14″ mattress, but you could choose to purchase the 8″, 10″, or 12″ mattress.
We rated the 14″ Crafted Sleep as 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. For comparison, we rated the Crafted Sleep 2-Side Hybrid (Medium) a 5.5 / 10. The difference comes mainly from the extra 2 inches of coils in the 1-Sided Crafted Sleep Hybrid Mattress.
This is a very average firmness level for a mattress, and we felt that the Crafted Sleep provided the right amount of firmness and support, with lots of cushioning and softness.
Sleeping Style
We recommend the Crafted Sleep Hybrid Mattress to all side sleepers. It offers the perfect amount of pressure relief for those high-pressure areas (hips and shoulders), while keeping the spine aligned in a healthy position, thanks for the thick layer of coils.
Back sleepers who have a preference for softer mattresses will do well on this mattress, if weighing under 200 lbs.
We do not recommend the Crafted Sleep 1-Side Hybrid Mattress for any stomach sleepers, as you would find your back to arch too much for a healthy sleep position. Instead, consider the Crafted Sleep 2-Sided Hybrid Mattress in its Luxury Firm firmness!
Temperature
Thanks to the upper layer of foam being infused with cooling gel, the Crafted Sleep Hybrid mattress sleeps very temperature neutral. It captures and draws your excess body heat away from you and deep into the mattress, allowing it to escape through the airy coil layer and outwards into your room.
Motion Transfer
The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress is excellent when it comes to motion transfer. You will not be disturbed by the movements of your partner, as all motion is absorbed by 5 inches of foam, and further dispersed into 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils.
How Do I Care For The Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress?
The cover of the Crafted Sleep 1-Sided Hybrid Mattress cannot be thrown in the washing machine. The best way to tend to a stain is to use water, a mild detergent, and blot the stain with a cloth. Do not rub the stain as you’d risk making it larger. A gentle blot on fresh stains should help you clean them up.
