SweetNight Starry Night Mattress - Composition
The SweetNight Starry Night Mattress is available in two thickness options: 12 inches and 14 inches. Both versions share a multi-layered construction designed to enhance sleep quality. We tested the 12-inch version of the mattress, which we are describing below:
Star Cover
The mattress features a StarSea breathable knitted cover that is soft to the touch. This cover is designed for airflow, helping to keep the mattress a cooler sleeping environment. Its unique navy-blue starry design adds a stylish touch to your bedroom decor.
Gel-Infused Heat Transfer Foam
Beneath the cover lies a layer of gel-infused heat transfer foam. That foam is engineered to dissipate excessive heat, ensuring that sleepers remain cool throughout the night. The gel infusion actively works to draw heat away from the body, making it ideal for those who tend to sleep hot, as it helps the body regulate its own temperature.
That upper layer of foam is the main pressure-relieving layer in the SweetNight Starry Night Mattress. It provides mild contouring and allows for the heavier, pressure-prone, areas in the hips and shoulders to relieve pressure before hitting a firmer layer below.
High-Density Memory Foam
The next layer consists of high-density memory foam, which offers a mix of pressure relief and support to the entire body. The high-pressure areas, such as the shoulders, hips, and lower back, receive a firmer form of pressure relief, while the lighter parts of the body find a good amount of support. Its adaptive nature ensures proper spinal alignment, which is crucial for preventing aches and pains.
This foam layer also serves as a transition layer before the entire body hits the firmer coils below.
Tempered Pocketed Coils Support
At the core of the mattress is a system of tempered pocketed coils, individually wrapped to respond instantly to the body’s movements, offering targeted support and minimizing motion transfer. The three-zoned design ensures that different areas of the body receive appropriate support, enhancing overall comfort.
While the SweetNight website markets edge support, we have found it to be lacking compared to other hybrid mattresses. We did not get very comfortable sleeping from edge-to-edge and felt that the mattress could use firmer coils around its perimeter. Keep in mind, however, that the SweetNight Starry Night Mattress is less than half the price of regular hybrid mattresses, and still offers incredible value.
Base Foam Layer
The foundation of the mattress is a regular, high-density, base foam layer that maintains the overall structure and durability of the mattress. This layer reinforces the coil system and adds to the longevity of the mattress by preventing sagging and deformation over time.

We rated the SweetNight Starry Night Mattress a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, classifying it as medium-soft. This level of firmness is designed to provide healthy sleep to most side sleepers and some back sleepers, thanks to a balance of softness, contouring, and support.
- Side Sleepers: The medium-soft feel offers sufficient cushioning for the shoulders and hips, reducing pressure points and promoting proper spinal alignment.
- Back Sleepers under 180 lbs: The mattress provides adequate support to maintain the natural curve of the spine, preventing lower back pain in back sleepers under 180 lbs. Those above that weight, those suffering from back pain, and back sleepers with a personal preference for firmer mattresses will benefit from a mattress of 7+ / 10 on the firmness scale.
- Stomach Sleepers: While the mattress offers some support, stomach sleepers will find it slightly softer than they’d like, depending on personal comfort levels.
Temperature Regulation

- Individually Wrapped Pocket Coils: Each coil moves independently, isolating motion from each partner and reducing disturbances caused by a partner’s movements.
This makes the mattress a fairly good choice for couples, though if you have a moving partner, we recommend checking out of the all-foam SweetNight mattresses for better motion isolation performance.
Maintenance & Durability
Proper maintenance can extend the lifespan of your SweetNight Twilight Mattress. Here are some tips:
Use a Mattress Protector: Protect the mattress from spills and stains with a high-quality waterproof protector.
Rotate Regularly: Rotate the mattress every 3-6 months to ensure even wear and maintain support. Only, do not flip the mattress, as it is built with a specific order of layers to ensure healthy sleep positions.
Spot Clean: Clean stains and spills promptly with a clean cloth, mild detergent, and water by blotting the stain. Do not rub it to avoid it spreading, and avoid over-saturating the mattress with water, letting it fully dry before adding your sheets back on.
Air Out Periodically: Allow the mattress to breathe by uncovering it occasionally to release trapped odors or moisture, especially if you are a hot sleeper or live in a warm and/or humid climate.
