Everything we felt in one box

Softness Absorbency Maintenance Style Materials
The 100% long-staple combed cotton cries out one thing: softness! The Cascais Towels are some of the softest bath towels on the market, and the quality of the cotton is to thank for! Expect lots of softness, without having to deal with a very thick and bulky towel, that takes a while to dry off. This is the perfect duo of soft and thickness.
Soft towels don't always seem to dry you off quite as efficiently as rougher towels do. The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels, however, ally softness and absorbency. We are impressed with how absorbent the Cascais Towels are and rate them a 7/10 on the absorbency scale.
The Cascais Towels are very convenient to care for. Wash them on the warm and gentle setting of your washing machine, with like colors, before drying on low tumble.
We love the elevated style of the Cascais Towels by Sunday Citizen. The ribbed design throughout all towel sizes gives them a well handcrafted look and cry out luxury. Additionally, each towel is piece dyed, giving Sunday Citizen full control over the quality of each towel in your order.
The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels are made of 100% long-staple combed cotton, which produces a purer, stronger, softer, and more durable textile. It is OEKO-Tex certified and loomed + dyed in Portugal, by a third-generation, family-owned mill that focuses on sustainability.

Detailed Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels Review Conclusion

I can’t think of more divided opinions, than that on towel preferences. So are you the kind who loves ultra fluffy and soft towels? Or rather the rough and scratchy kind, that you swear are the only one actually drying you?

I’m on the rougher end of the spectrum, but really only because I have never found a soft towel that dries me efficiently.

We were very impressed with the Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels’ ability to dry, while providing a very soft drying experience. Let’s take a look at our thoughts in more details.

Who Is Sunday Citizen?

Sunday Citizen is all about softness and chill. Its name? Sunday Citizen designs and curates products for the Sunday lovers and lifestyle.

You will find that Sunday Citizen has engineered unique fabric blends to reach the utmost durable softness. With their consumers in mind, their products are designed to be easily washable, while looking good before and after washes. We love the modern, yet inviting designs that elevate any room a Sunday Citizen product calls home.

Sunday Citizen started from the frustration of a luxury hotel owner would wanted the softest blankets in his rooms. He partnered with a textile engineer and those soft luxurious blankets were born. Today, three collections live at Sunday Citizen, and include a lounge wear line, as well as all bedding accessories from weighted blankets to comforters, pillows, sheets, throws, and even towels.

What Is Inside The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels?

The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels are made of one straight-forward and high-quality material: long-staple combed cotton, making them some of the softest bath towels on the market.

Long-Staple Cotton

The Cascais Towels are made of 100% long-staple combed cotton.

Long-staple cotton uses a much longer fiber than regular cotton. Being up to twice as long, those fibers are a lot stronger than regular cotton, being woven into a textile that will be more durable and resist the challenge and time, uses, and washes.

You can expect less tears and pilling in long-staple combed cotton, that in regular cotton. That is a very important quality in the Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels. A pilling towel is never fun and we have not noticed any pilling while testing the towels. This is also a result of Sunday Citizen using combed cotton.

Long-staple cotton also turns into a much softer and silkier textile, since it is weaved into a smoother surface with fewer exposed fiber ends

Combed Cotton

Combed cotton is a technique that cleans out a lot of impurities and foreign substances from the cotton after it has been spun into yarn (whether short or long staple).

Using combed cotton leaves you with a purer, softer, and higher quality cotton, which typically makes it a more expensive cotton. You will also find combed cotton to be more breathable and less prone to shrinkage or pilling.

Because Sunday Citizen uses combed long-stable cotton, the Cascais towels are absolutely soft and expected to last longer than most towels. You may even find that washing them renders a softer towel!

Milled In Portugal

Sunday Citizen works with a Portuguese mill to loom the cotton. They have chosen a third-generation, family-owned mill, focused on sustainability to treat the cotton and make the towels.

Portugal is the European capital for textiles; mainly cotton. The know-how has been transferred down generations, with impressive craftsmanship and expertise in custom weave and patterns.

Note that each towel is individually dyed, ensuring full control over the quality of the end product. They are also designed with a ribbed pattern, which gives it an elevated design and more luxurious look.

How Do The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels Feel?

Softness

The Sunday Citizen Cascais towels feel very soft, thanks to the 100% long-staple combed cotton used to make them.

For the amount of softness delivered, we were pleasantly surprised to find a rather thin towel. No bulky towel, taking storage and washing machine space. Instead, you get a very large, full-body towel, that is soft without all of the bulkiness.

Absorbency

For the amount of softness you get in the Cascais towels, we are impressed with the absorbency performance of the Sunday Citizen towels. We rated them a 7/10 on the absorbency level and found it easy to get dry quickly. No rubbing back and forth, the absorbency as expected of a premium-priced towel.

Style

We love the ribbed pattern on the Cascais Towels! They are a proof of the exceptional craftsmanship for the family-owned mill producing them in Portugal. They have an elevated and luxurious look that looks great in bathrooms of any style.

We also think that the short-edge stitching pattern looks great and adds a nice finishing touch to the towels!

Lastly, the size of those towels is huge! The bath towel is a large 37″ wide by 59″ high, or 94 by 150 cm for our neighbors north of the border. The hand towels are really large too, and we love all of the extra material!

Maintenance

The Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels are very easy to maintain. You should not experience shrinkage or pilling, and may even experience your towels getting softer after washes.

Machine wash any of the six towels on warm and gentle cycles with like colors, and machine dry on low tumble. Keep away from the bleach and you will have fresh towels that are pretty easy to keep clean!

How Do I Care For Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels?

Taking care of your Sunday Citizen Cascais Towels is easy and convenient, thanks to Sunday Citizen using 100% cotton in its towels.

When comes times to wash your towels, machine wash them on warm with like colors, on gentle cycle. You can throw them straight from washing machine to dryer and dry on low tumble.

Just make sure not to use bleach in your cleaning process, and a mild detergent is always preferred.
