Minocasa Mino Hybrid mattress review

Composition: What's Inside the Minocasa Mino Hybrid Mattress?

The Minocasa Mino Hybrid mattress is constructed using a thoughtful combination of quality materials designed to promote comfort, durability, and cooling. Each layer plays a crucial role in the overall performance of the mattress, ensuring it caters to different sleep preferences.

400-GSM Tencel Mattress Cover

The first layer of the Minocasa Mino Hybrid is a 400 GSM Tencel cover, known for its moisture-wicking and breathable properties. Tencel is a natural fiber derived from eucalyptus trees, making it eco-friendly and ideal for those who prioritize sustainability in their sleep products. The fabric is incredibly soft to the touch and promotes a cool sleeping surface by enhancing airflow, which helps to keep heat from accumulating at the surface of the mattress.

1” Cooling Gel-Infused Memory Foam

Beneath the Tencel cover lies a 1-inch layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam. This foam is designed to cradle the body, providing pressure relief around key areas such as the shoulders, hips, and lower back. The inclusion of cooling gel helps dissipate heat, preventing the notorious “hot sleep” associated with traditional memory foam.

1” Soft Foam

The layer beneath is another 1-inch layer of soft foam, adding a buffer between the memory foam and the coil system beneath. This layer contributes to the initial plushness and comfort of the mattress, allowing sleepers to enjoy a soft feel without compromising the underlying support. It also enhances the mattress’ ability to conform to different body shapes.

350-Gram Cotton Felt Layer

This felt layer is unique to Minocasa, and acts as a transition between the foam and the pocketed coil system. The cotton felt is durable and helps to distribute weight evenly across the mattress, enhancing the overall durability and performance of the mattress. It also serves as an extra layer of cushioning, adding to the overall comfort level, and adds breathability to the mattress, to allow for cooler sleep.

5-Zone Ergonomic Pocketed Coils

The core of the Minocasa Mino Hybrid is composed of 5-zone ergonomic pocketed coils, which offer targeted support based on the different regions of the body. These coils are individually wrapped, meaning they can move independently of one another. This zoning ensures firmer support under heavier areas, such as the lower back, while softer support is provided for lighter areas like the shoulders. The pocketed coil system also improves airflow through the mattress, further enhancing temperature regulation. We did notice however, that they are not firmer on the perimeter of the bed, which would have given the impression of a wider sleeping area.

Anti-Slip Bottom Cover

The bottom layer of the Minocasa Mino Hybrid features an anti-slip cover that helps keep the mattress securely in place, even on slatted bed frames or adjustable bases. This cover ensures that the mattress remains stable throughout the night, reducing the need for constant repositioning.

No Fiberglass

Minocasa does not use any fiberglass in its mattress production, which is great news! Instead, they use a fire safety barrier made of Cellulose and Polyethylene Terephtalate, which is safe and healthy to the human body.

Logan & Cove Choice Mattress Sleep Tests

Everything we felt in one box

Firmness Temperature Maintenance Sleeping Style Bed Base
Thanks to its combination of foams, we rated the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress a 6.5/10 on the firmness scale, making it a medium-firm mattress, very close to the average mattress firmness. This makes it a very versatile mattress, fitting the bill for many sleepers.
Thanks to its CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres, ecoLuxe® Cooling Gel Foam, and a breathable coil system, this mattress is designed to stay cool throughout the night. The Logan & Cove Choice mattress offers temperature-neutral sleep on hot and cold nights.
It is best to cover your mattress with a waterproof mattress cover. In case of a stain, tend to it as quickly as possible, by blotting it with a clean cloth, water, and a mild detergent. Never rub the stain, and let it fully dry before covering your mattress back up.
We recommend the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress to nearly all back-sleepers, as well as side-sleepers and stomach-sleepers under 150 lbs. Combination sleepers will love this mattress, but most stomach-sleepers would benefit from a firmer mattress.
As with most modern mattresses, the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress can be placed on any bed frame strong and sturdy enough. Older wire grid frames are not recommended as they can damage the cover, and adjustable bases will work really well with this mattress.

Firmness: How Does the Minocasa Mino Hybrid Mattress Feel?

On the firmness scale, we rated the Minocasa Mino Hybrid around 7.5 out of 10, placing it in the firm category. This firmness level makes it particularly suitable for back and stomach sleepers, who require more support to keep their spine aligned throughout the night. Side sleepers who prefer a firmer feel, have back pain or are heavier weight, may also appreciate this mattress, though most would find it too firm.

The firmness comes primarily from the coil system and the dense foam layers, which provide a supportive base that prevents sinking too deeply into the mattress. Despite its firm rating, the Mino Hybrid still offers enough contouring from its top layers to avoid creating pressure points, making it a good option for those who want both support and comfort.

Temperature Regulation

One of the standout features of the Minocasa Mino Hybrid mattress is its ability to stay cool throughout the night. The cooling gel-infused memory foam layer works in tandem with the breathable Tencel cover and the airflow-promoting pocketed coils to prevent heat buildup. The coils allow air to circulate freely through the mattress, while the Tencel cover wicks away moisture, making it an excellent choice for hot sleepers or those who live in warm climates.

The mattress’ cooling properties are further enhanced by the gel infusion in the memory foam, which actively works to draw heat away from the body. Overall, the Minocasa Mino Hybrid excels in temperature regulation, ensuring that sleepers stay cool and comfortable.

Motion Transfer

Thanks to the individually wrapped pocketed coils, the Minocasa Mino Hybrid performed fairly well at reducing motion transfer. Each coil moves independently, absorbing movement and preventing it from spreading across the mattress. This feature makes it a good choice for couples, particularly those where one partner is a restless sleeper.

If you tend to wake up easily when your partner moves, the Minocasa Mino Hybrid will help minimize disturbances, allowing for a more restful night’s sleep, thought mattresses with thicker foams above the coils may perform better.

Maintenance & Care

The Minocasa Mino Hybrid mattress cover is not removable and needs to be spot cleaned when necessary. We always recommend using a high-quality waterproof mattress protector to protect your mattress investment effectively.

In the event of a stain, time is of the essence and we recommend you tend to it as quickly as possible. Simply blot the stain with a clean cloth, water and mild detergent. Never rub the stain, as it may further spread it. Let the area fully dry before covering with sheets again.

Like many hybrid mattresses, the Mino Hybrid is not flippable, so it is recommended to rotate the mattress 180 degrees every 3-6 months to prevent sagging and ensure even wear. This helps extend the lifespan of the mattress and ensures a consistently comfortable sleep surface over time.

Who Is the Minocasa Mino Hybrid Mattress Good For?

The Minocasa Mino Hybrid mattress caters to a wide range of sleepers, but it’s especially well-suited for:

  • Back sleepers: The firm support provided by the 5-zone ergonomic coils helps maintain proper spinal alignment, which is crucial for back sleepers, while the upper foams provide comfortable pressure relief.
  • Stomach sleepers: The firm feel ensures that stomach sleepers do not sink too deeply into the mattress, helping to prevent back pain.
  • Hot sleepers: With its combination of cooling gel-infused foam, breathable Tencel cover, and airflow-enhancing pocketed coils and cotton felt, this mattress is a great option for those who tend to sleep hot.
  • People who need support: Thanks to the firmer feel and targeted support zones, this mattress works well for those with back issues, heavier weight, or who need extra support while sleeping.
