ENDY KIDS MATTRESS REVIEW

Children mattresses should be supportive to their growing bodies, while providing cozy comfort. The Endy Kids Mattress is designed specifically for children aged 5–12 years. It provides a comfortable, safe, and supportive sleep surface for growing kids, in all sleep positions.

At 7 inches thick, it is ideal for bunk beds, trundles, smaller bed frames, and lower profile setups commonly used in kids’ rooms. We love that it is made in Canada, uses CertiPUR-US® certified foams, comes with a washable mattress cover, and ships free to all Canadian provinces.

Let’s take a closer look at the Endy Kids Mattress’ components, performance, and whether it might be good option for your child.

Endy mattress review

Endy Kids Mattress - Composition

The Endy Kids Mattress is made of two foam layers and a washable mattress cover. It is about 7″ thick – much thinner than regular adult mattresses, yet ideal for kids’ bed frames, trundles, and bunk beds.

Let’s look at each layer in more detail:

Washable Micro-Quilted Cover

  • The Endy Kids mattress cover is a soft micro-quilted cover. It is breathable, with a textured / quilted surface to add comfort and a bit of plushness without adding too much sink.

  • One of our favorite features of the Endy Kids Mattress is the fact that its cover is removable and machine-washable, which is a big plus for kids (spills, messes, etc). Note that we still recommend covering your child’s mattress (and yours!) with a waterproof mattress protector.

  • The top of this mattress cover is 97% polyester, 3% spandex; bottom is 100% polypropylene.

Endy Comfort Foam

  • Immediately under the cover is a comfort layer of open-cell polyurethane foam, which is designed to be breathable, thanks to the thousands of little holes pierced in it.

  • This foam layer is responsive — it cushions and adapts to the body rather than being ultra-soft memory foam that traps heat. It bounces back quickly when a child shifts positions, making movement easy and avoiding children waking up when tossing and turning.

  • That layer isinfused with cooling gel in the comfort foam, intended to help prevent overheating, so kids stay at a more comfortable temperature during the night.

Support Foam

  • Beneath the comfort layer is the support foam layer, which is higher-density, hence firmer, foam.

  • The purpose is to maintain the structure of the mattress, prevent sagging, and keep bodies aligned — spine, hips, shoulders, joints — especially important as children grow.

  • Because the total thickness is only 7″, this support foam must do double duty: being firm enough to support, yet not so hard that it’s uncomfortable. Endy strikes a good balance in their Kids Mattress.

Other Key Certifications / Materials

  • The foams are CertiPUR-US® certified – they meet standards for emissions, durability, and content (e.g. low VOCs, safe chemicals).

  • The mattress is latex-free, which reduces some allergy concerns for parents.

Endy Kids Mattress Sleep Tests

Everything we felt in one box

Firmness Temperature Maintenance Sleeping Style Bed Base
We have rated the Endy Kids Mattress as a medium-firm mattress (6.5/10), offering balanced comfort / cozy plushness and support for growing bodies.
Thanks to its cooling gel and breathable open-cell foam, kids sleep temperature-neutral all night long, and even active kids don’t risk overheating.
The removable, machine-washable cover makes the Endy Kids Mattress easy to clean and maintain, great for spills and little accidents. Though, always cover your mattress with a waterproof protector!
We recommend the Endy Kids Mattress to all sleeping positions weighing up to 100 to 120 lbs, making it versatile for kids ages 5–12.
The Endy Kids Mattress can be laid on any base you see fit (platform, slats, floor, etc.) and is designed to work well with trundles and bunks.

Firmness & Sleeping Styles

Firmness

  • We rated the Endy Kids Mattress at about 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, where 1 is very soft, 10 is very firm. 6.5 is industry average and provides a good balance between support and pressure relief.

  • This places it in a “medium-firm / medium” category. The Endy Kids Mattress has some give (for comfort) but still supports, especially under the heavier parts of the body (hips, shoulders).

  • For kids, this firmness is ideal: too soft, and they’ll sag and won’t be able to toss; too firm, and pressure points develop or their sleep becomes uncomfortable.

Sleeping Styles

Because its firmness and construction are balanced, the mattress is designed to be suitable for all sleeping positions among kids aged 5-12:

  • Back sleepers: Get good support under the lumbar region; the support foam layer helps keep the spine in neutral alignment.

  • Stomach sleepers: Since heavier parts (torso) are nearer the surface, the mattress needs to hold up under that weight without letting hips drop — the Endy Kids Mattress does well in that regard, up to about 100 lbs or so.

  • Side sleepers: Here, pressure relief is more needed at shoulders and hips. The comfort foam layer, with its responsiveness and some cushioning, helps reduce pressure points. Obviously, for heavier children (towards the upper end of the 5-12 range), there may be more sink than for lighter kids still; but overall the design works well for side-sleeping children.

So overall, good for kids in that entire age group, in any position — though if a child is much heavier (say early teen and around 100 to 120 lbs in body weight), they may start to notice that 7″ isn’t quite as plush or resilient as thicker adult mattresses.

Temperature Regulation

One frequent concern for foam mattresses (especially for kids) is overheating. The Endy Kids Mattress addresses this well thanks to:

  • The comfort foam is open-cell, which allows for more airflow through the foam than denser, closed-cell foams. This helps with breathability and cooling.

  • The comfort layer is infused with cooling gel, which is intended to help draw away or buffer heat, helping the surface stay more comfortable.

  • The micro-quilted cover is breathable; though polyester and spandex blends can trap heat more than pure natural fibers, we found the breathability ok.

  • Also, the relatively thin design (7″) means less foam mass, which can mean less heat retention compared to thick mattresses.

For many children, this mattress will likely stay reasonably cool. Of course cooling will be affected by room temperature, bedding used (favor natural fibers and stay away from polyester sheets!), and how the bed is set up (e.g. slats under the mattress, mattress protector). But overall, heat retention is low-moderate rather than high — pretty good for a foam mattress.

Motion Transfer

Motion transfer is how much motion (say, from someone moving, or a child tossing and turning, or perhaps a parent getting in) is felt across the mattress. While this is less relevant for a kids mattress, children may share a mattress, or a pet or parents might lay with the child for parts of the night:

  • Its all-foam construction absorbs motion more effectively than innerspring or hybrid builds. Less bounce means less propagation of motion.

  • The comfort foam layer, with its cushioning and some “give,” helps dissipate motion. The support foam below gives structure, preventing too much sag or bottoming out, but doesn’t bounce much.

  • For children sharing bunk beds, or sleeping near siblings, parents, etc., the Endy Kids Mattress should reduce disturbance: if one moves, the other is less likely to feel it sharply.

So, good performance in motion isolation for its class. It won’t be entirely “zero motion” (no foam mattress is), but it should be quite comfortable for staying asleep through minor movements or turning.

Maintenance & Durability

Maintenance is an important factor for kids’ mattresses and if you’re a parent, you know! Here’s how the Endy Kids Mattress stacks up:

Washable Cover

The micro-quilted cover is removable and machine-washable. That’s a major plus for children (spills, accidents, snack crumbs, etc). Remember to never unzip the cover of a mattress that includes fiberglass – thankfully Endy manufactures its mattresses without fiberglass and it is safe to unzip and wash the cover.

Durability & Warranty

  • The mattress uses high-density support foam, which tends to resist sagging if well made. Because the mattress is only 7″ thick, durability depends strongly on how heavy the child is, how often usage is heavy, how much jumping and hopping goes on, and how well the bed base supports the mattress (slats need to be close enough, etc).

  • Certifications like CertiPUR-US® ensure certain standards of foam quality, emissions, etc., which often correlate with longer lifespan and fewer issues.

  • Warranty: It comes with a 15-year warranty, which lets you cycle it through several kids.

Other Maintenance Notes

  • Because the mattress is relatively light and thinner than typical adult mattresses, rotating it (head-to-foot) periodically, will help equalize wear. You can rotate the Endy Kids Mattress by 180 degrees every 6 months, but never flip it.

  • We always recommend using a waterproof mattress protector to protect against fluids that might seep into the mattress, especially on kids mattresses, which are more likely to welcome little accidents and spills.

  • Ensuring good support from underneath (slats, platform bed, etc.) helps reduce sagging over time.

Who Is The Endy Kids Mattress Good For?

Here are the types of kids / situations for which the Endy Kids Mattress is especially well-suited, and some where it might be less ideal.

Particularly Good For:

  • Children age 5-12: As Endy specifies, this mattress is designed for this age group; comfort, materials, support, and size are tuned to them. We would personally recommend it from the time your child is done with their crib (around age 3) and until s/he is about 100 to 120 lbs.

  • All sleeping positions: Because of the balanced firmness (~6.5/10) the Endy Petit Kids Mattress supports back, side, and stomach sleepers reasonably well.

  • Parents who want easy clean-up: The washable cover is a game changer for parents who like quick and easy cleaning, and great for children with allergies or skin conditions.

  • Rooms with space constraints: Bunk beds, trundle beds, smaller frames — the 7″ profile helps fit where thicker mattresses might be too tall.

  • Kids who sleep hot (or tend to overheat) — the open-cell foam and cooling gel help mitigate heat retention.

  • Families who prefer foam mattresses to reduce motion transfer and noise, and who want a homogeneous feel.

Possibly Less Ideal For:

  • Heavier children especially older than 12: As body weight increases, foam tends to compress more; 7″ may mean less long-term durability (or more sag) under heavier weight. If a child is large for age, or close to teenage size, you might consider something thicker or with stronger support from 100 to 120 lbs in body weight.

  • Kids who prefer a very soft “sink-in” feel: If your child likes plush layering, pillow-top, or memory foam that hugs strongly, this mattress is more medium-firm; some older kids may find it less cushy.

Endy Kids Mattress

Overall, the Endy Kids Mattress is a strong choice for many families. If you’re looking for a mattress for a child aged roughly 5 to 12, in any sleeping position, and want something that balances comfort, safety, support, and easy cleaning, it delivers well. It won’t feel like a luxury adult mattress with pillow-top luxury, but its design and materials make it competently engineered for its intended use.

If you want something specifically for your child’s bedroom that is easy to manage and great value, this is one of the better foam-only kids’ mattress options in Canada.
