The sheets are made of 100% organic cotton. They are GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard), which is one of the most rigorous standards for organic textile production, and a certification granted by an external and independent agency.
The Duman Percale Organic Cotton Sheets are also OEKO-Tex certified, meaning the fabrics are tested for harmful substances and meet safety standards certifying they are free of harmful chemicals, making them a safe choice for children and the elderly.
We also love that they are manufactured ethically in a Fair Trade Certified factory in India.
Weave / Finish
The Duman Percale Organic Cotton bedding series uses a percale weave – which is a thinner weave (one-over, one-under) that renders a crisp, matte finish (not glossy), with good breathability.
Soft yet crisp when we first unpacked them, they have since then gotten even softer with every wash!

Softness
Initial Feel
On first use or after being newly washed, percale often feels crisper, a bit stiffer, almost cool to the touch. The Duman Sheets are no exception – though soft, they are thin and a little crisp at first, especially if you are used to sateen or brushed cotton (which are softer from the get-go).
Softening Over Time
We have found the Duman Percale Organic Sheets to soften with every wash. As with many organic cotton percale fabrics, break-in improves—fibers relax, finishing chemicals wash out, and the texture becomes more inviting.
We have run the sheets through three washes and found that they have become quit soft.
Temperature Regulation
A key selling point of percale, especially organic percale, is its ability to keep you cooler.
We would call the Duman Percal Organic Cotton Sheets temperature-neutral, as they are naturally temperature-regulating.
The breathable nature of percale weave helps air circulate more freely compared to denser weaves or fabrics like flannel or heavy sateen. That means better moisture wicking and less heat trapping.
While they are great candidates for year-round comfort, you may need to add an extra layer of warmth, or a thicker duvet, in the winter.
Potential limitations:
Because percale tends to be crisp, people who sleep in very cold environments or who prefer very plush, soft, luxurious textures immediately might find the initial experience less warm.

Maintenance
How easy are the Duman Percale Sheets to care for? What will keep them in good shape?
Washing
Duman recommends machine washing in warm water on a gentle cycle with similar colors.
As with any natural fiber, avoid bleach.
Drying
You can tumble dry on low setting. We recommend promptly removing from the dryer to avoid excessive wrinkling.
If needed, ironing can be done using a warm setting. Because percale has that crisp weave, ironing can help smooth out wrinkles, though many prefer a slightly relaxed look and may skip ironing.
Durability & Longevity
