I smiled when I heard I am about to test a mattress called Solay!
I am always wondering where did the name come from and what does it mean and how did they come up with it every time I am about to receive a mattress to test, not this one. I seriously had a smile on my face I even sang “Soleil, Soleil” by Dalida when they told me my next mattress was the Solay mattress. While the song says (Soleil je suis née dans tes bras) meaning (Sun, I was born in your arms) my version of the song would be like (Solay mattress, I want to wake up in your arms…)
Solay- spelled Soleil in French- means the sun! Such a cool name.
Alright, probably this subject isn’t important to you as it is to me. I know we are at here to talk about our featured mattress, its performance, how we slept on it, what’s inside of it and WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BUYING IT!
Normally the fist thing you do when you sit on a couch or a bed is running your fingers on the cover to see how it feels.
And here’s how the Solay mattress cover feels
The cover of the Solay mattress is infused with Tencel® fabric which is naturally cooling, softer than silk, hygienic, and whisks away moisture which offers you your coolest night sleep. Those elements all together make that cover cool and soft to the touch.
What is Inside the Mattress?
The Solay mattress combines breathable cooling foam and hundreds of full-sized springs to give you a restorative sleep night after night.
Besides the fact that The Solay Mattress combines breathable cooling foam and hundreds of full- sized springs to provide the sleeper a restoravtive sleep night after night, here’s what also makes up this 11″ hybrid mattress. Right below the temperature regulating TENCEL® cover, inside the Solay mattress you will find:
- A Temperature regulating TENCEL® cover. This layer regulates your body temperature while you sleep.
- B 1″ Cooling Gel Foam.
- C 2″ Motion Reducing Foam. You are sound asleep thanks to this layer. This one Helps you sleep better without being disturbed even when your partner moves around
- D 1″ Support Layer. Together with the foundational layer, Support layer surrounds the pocketed coils layer to relieve pressure points no matter how you sleep.
- E 6″ Pocketed Steel Spring Coils, providing extra ventilation and ultimate edge support. This layer prevents that sinking found in an all foam traditional mattress. It elevates you keeping you steady and your body weight evenly distributed.
- F 1″ Foundational Foam
You probably think by now, Ok what makes it so special than the others? There’s so many Hybrid mattresses out there.
Actually what makes the Solay mattress stand out is their Coils Technology… Well along with the breathable layers of foam! But let’s talk about those full size springs:
The Solay Coil Technology
This 6″ pocketed steel spring coils layer helps you sleep cooler through the night.
Their Quantum® Edge coils were designed to provide you with the most amount of edge support. The durable yet flexible coils conform to your body for ultimate comfort and reduced motion transfer with less partner disruption. Based on sleep test results, our coils performed 28% cooler than the average sleep you’d have on an all foam mattress.

• Superior temperature control.

So much comfort coming from the layers and the coils to help you fall asleep faster.
Great edge support

• It needs at least a couple hours for the edges to take their full shape.
Minimal off gassing that should disappear within a few hours. Avoid sleeping face down first on it (like I did)!.
So many reasons make the Solay a great pick for all type of sleepers.
The combo of foam layers and spring technology helps you sleep cool keeping the unwanted heat away. Also that same combo provides that comfort we are all looking forward to, it helps you enter your deepest sleep therefore falling asleep faster.
Whether you are a side- Back combo sleeper or a side sleeper or back sleeper exclusively, I am safe to say The Solay Mattress is for you!
It is a great mattress if you are a stomach sleeper and hate it when your hips sink in. The support that comes from both the layers of foam as well as the solid 6″ of pocketed coils keep your hips and back aligned providing comfort for stomach sleepers.
No matter how you sleep, Solay mattress adapts to support your body.
The Solay mattress foam and spring layers work together to relieve pressure points to help you fall asleep faster and enter your deepest sleep.

So many things Solay has to offer but I want to take a moment and highlight a very special gesture. Only a few mattress companies are known for their charity work and giving back to the community, and we are big fans of acts of kindness. Solay went a step above by providing ONE MATTRESS AND BOX SPRING TO A CHILD IN NEED in collaboration with Beds For Kids, a NC-based Non-Profit, for every mattress they sell!
Besides that they also offer:
101 days risk-free trial period.
Free shipping to your doorstep within 3-7 business days.
