Helix offers a Custom Mattress Experience
In 2017 I tried the dual comfort version, although I was impressed by how seriously they take the building of each sleeper’s side, the dual comfort was not the right fit for me, but I didn’t want to give up on Helix mattresses. I did mention back then when I finished my dual Helix review that some day I will be back as I am intrigued in the blended one. Here I am now to tell you all about my Blended Helix experience! A blended Helix mattress is one design construction. The entire bed will be built as one design to fit one sleeper’s sleep preferences. As for couples, the two individuals’ sleep preferences will be blended to a satisfying medium feel that will perfectly suit both sleepers.
You can choose to get either blended version or dual comfort one.
The quiz helps a lot as it determines your final design, and is required for any sort of mattress purchase. They basically take your answers and individually personalize the mattress to your needs and preferences by changing the materials in each layer shifting their order in the mattress and changing the densities of the materials. Along with a layer of microcoils, the Helix mattress is made up of two different types of foam and is 10″ thick, no matter the size. The open cell foam layers together with the coils help allow optimum air flow that’s why at Helix they ditched the cooling gels and chemicals to keep the bed cool.
What is Inside the Mattress?
Inside the Helix mattress you will find their proprietary blend, the Helix Dynamic Foam and High- Grade Polyfoam so that the sleeper can get proper support and comfort. This special blend makes the foams adaptable allowing quick reaction to movement, help contour the sleepers’ body and retain the heat.
The Springs or microcoils are individually pocketed. Thanks to this layer you will get bounce and lightness, and the space between them allows for better airflow. Finally the combination of foam and springs is like match made if mattress heaven as they provide unparalleled pressure relief for side sleepers.
Breaking the components down and what they do exactly:
Each Helix Mattress is made specifically for you and designed with three different components all wrapped in a cover that is custom designed for breathability and comfort to give your mattress a sleek aesthetic.
These components are Helix Dynamic Foam, Pocketed Microcoils and High- Grade Polyfoam.
Helix Dynamic Foam is not memory foam and not latex, but something right in the middle. It’s a supremely contouring, reactively comfortable and uniquely cooling proprietary premium foam .
Pocketed Microcoils are miniature coils that allow for effective weight distribution, pressure relief and bounce.
And finally, High-Grade polyfoam has a wide range of densities, and allows for durability in the base layers and varying firmness in the comfort layers.
There’s no doubt about it we slept better on the blended Helix than we did the dual comfort one! I got to enjoy that “Happy Medium” feel and didn’t end up bumping into my husband tossing at night.
Now if you are the type of sleeper that doesn’t toss and turn and really enjoys sleeping on their own side of the bed, go with the dual.
At the end keep in mind that the Key to perfect mattress is to personalize it wisely, take your time taking that quiz and play around with the layers. It’s a fun game after all.
• Minimal offgassing
No more finding yourself stuck in the middle like the dual version
You will certainly notice less back and lower back pain
• The cover can use a little more thickness
Minimal edge support, you can roll off the bed
While you don’t have the luxury of designing you own bed with most bed in a box mattresses, with Helix it’s like creating the bed that matches your sleep preferences. So I am safe to say it works if you are a stomach, back or side sleeper as long as you work with the quiz to help customize it to your settings.

Her testimony and review.
“I like my new mattress. I am able to sleep on my side without shoulder pain. I also like the Helix Pillow that I bought with it, since it can be customized easily by adding or removing layers. Overall I am sleeping better and no longer take melatonin to help me sleep. It didn’t magically get rid of my headaches, but gotta have reasonable expectations “
And here she is on her new Helix.
Ashley B. thank you most importantly for your support.
What Type of Bed Frame Works for this Mattress?
- Adjustable Frame
Despite its thickness the Helix mattress will work great with most adjustable bases or bed frames. Here’s why: The foams in the mattress are flexible, and the microcoils should not be affected if you shift the head or the feet of the base. You can see how the bed will bend to recline or incline as needed without causing any damage to the mattress.
